Power in the Prayer of a Praying Congregation!

A SPECIAL PRAYER MEETING SUNDAY NIGHT, March 13, 6:30 p.m., will be held at the home of Charles & Sherri Brewer (photo above). "Please be there to pray for the healthy status of Christian fellowship in our church, to praise God and to seek divine guidance for the future direction of our congregation from this day forward," says Charles. COME AS YOU ARE TO PRAY
FOR ALL THAT WE CAN BE

This Sunday evening prayer meeting at the home of the Brewers will be informal, so come as you are, and what follows below is for anyone who might be interested in checking out a prayer excerpt from the new 8-week course, The Methodist Christian, written by Rev. Dr. Wes Magruder, a United Methodist missionary in Cameroon with his wife and two daughters. Lesson 3 of The Methodist Christian course has the following to say about PRAYER:

THE PRAYING CHURCH

"Prayer is not only something that is done individually, or in one’s own home. Prayer is an important part of a church’s life and witness. A church which prays together has great power. Prayer helps create a community of people who seek God’s will, are open to God’s leading, and are concerned about the welfare of neighbors and community.” Rev. Dr. Wes Magruder
