Alli Nelson: Tinney Chapel's quintessential athlete!
TINNEY CHAPEL'S ALLISON (Alli) NELSON, a senior starter for the Winnsboro High School Lady Raiders, is interviewed at 6:00 a.m. today by a Tyler Channel 7 News crew. The Lady Raiders were preparing for departure to Austin and the UIL State Basketball 3-A Playoffs. Allison's clutch 3-pointer tied an earlier regional playoff game between Winnsboro (ranked # 4 in Texas) and Princeton (ranked # 3), forcing an overtime period, eventually won by the Lady Raiders. Tomorrow, Thursday, Winnsboro meets Cleveland High School in the state playoffs at 3:30 p.m. If the Lady Raiders prevail in that contest, they will likely face Canyon High School, another perennial powerhouse, for the State Championship.

LETTER TO THE EDITOR:
Just Thoughts: Perhaps it is appropriate that the most recent issue at Tinney Chapel is “walls.”
I am openly opposed to walls at this time.
A wall can be a shelter and a place of comfort or a wall can be a great divider.
In my humble opinion the walls at Tinney Chapel are at this time a great divider, existing and proposed, physical and mental.
What we desperately need at this time is unison and not division.
For whatever the reason our recent efforts seem bent on erecting a great tower of ego.
I would rather gather with a few in an open brush arbor on a cold rainy day for worship, than to assemble under a roof of gold to admire what man can accomplish.
We only walk our paths for a short while, too short for disunion.
Let's all walk in the sunshine for a while and not worry so much over our meager accomplishments and failures. —Bill Stevens

UPCOMING EVENTS:
“It was cold and damp this morning but the Lady Raiders got a warm sendoff for their trip to the state basketball playoffs.
The cheerleaders did some cheers and lots of students, fans, and parents were there to provide well wishes and hugs. The girls were all smiles loading into the bus.
They’ll stop and practice at Baylor today and get ready for tomorrow’s game. I was mistaken Sunday about the [Thursday] playing schedule.
Canyon plays Wimberley at 2 p.m. and Winnsboro plays Cleveland at 3:30 p.m. Thursday.
